While the automakers are catching much of the attention with the introduction of fuel-efficient cars, the introduction of the first electric yacht is definitely grand news for luxury-loving holiday goers. On October 18th, 2010, leading US collaborators International Battery and Electric Marine Propulsion (EMP) declared that the newly manufactured yacht is slated to hit the waters soon.

The collaborating companies have admitted their concern for the environment, and in their endeavor to manufacture an eco-friendly luxury yacht, they have been super-successful. It is the first and largest plug-in hybrid electric yacht, as claimed by them. Christened as the “Tang”, the work of the yacht was completed by 21st September and it is waiting for its official release.
