U-Boat Worx will be unveiling their new range of personal submarines at the Ft. Lauderdale Boat Show in October.
The new C-Explorer will seat 1 to 5 people & will feature models that can dive up to 3280 feet (1000 meters). So far there’s only pricing for the 100 meter model & that’s estimated at just over $900,000.00.

One look at this picture & you’re probably thinking what I’m thinking: that’s gotta be the best way to freak out swimmers at your local beach. The Seabreacher X is a personal mini-submarine that can launch itself out of the water when it surfaces.
The mini-sub can travel at 25mph underwater & 50mph on the surface, thanks to a 260 horsepower engine that emits a nice growl when you surface rapidly. Besides diving & launching a few feet in the air when it surfaces, you can also roll the sub underwater if you feel like getting a closer look at the marine life through the canopy, instead of the viewport at your feet.

Whales seem to be having a large influence over marine design lately. First the Whale-inspired Oculus and now Johnathan Owen Pearson’s Luxury Submarine. This 144ft half sub, half superyacht allows for comfort while veiwing coral reefs, shipwrecks and any kind of under-water life while trying to blend in. The whale-like submarine/yacht is propelled by two hydrogen fuel cell-powered pump jets an effort to make it eco-friendly. No word on price as the design is still only a concept from JopDesign, which also concepts luxury kitchen designs, salad servers, lighting aparatuses, etc. More pictures of the whale-like sub-yacht after the jump.

Sub Mare Technologies is offering up no-frills subs anywhere from 13-98 foot long, built to spec. The sub they have listed on eBay is a 33ft, 10 ton sub, has a diving depth of 656ft and a range of up to 600 nautical miles. The 33 footer is available for $500,000. So if you’re looking for a reletively inexpensive way to get underwater, or if you have a drug run or two to make, Sub Mare Technologies may be the solution for you.
