Rinspeed sQuba: The Lotus Submarine Car
February 14th, 2008 by BallerRideDrawing inspiration from the James Bond film The Spy Who Loved Me, Rinspeed has created a zero-emissions Lotus Elise capable of driving on land and diving under water like a submarine. Powered by rechargeable Lithium-Ion batteries, the sQuba is the most baller green car we’ve seen by far. The only downside is that the top must be down while the vehicle is under water, forcing passengers to breathe through scuba masks connected to the car’s integrated compressed-air tank. Anyway you look at it though, the sQuba is an amazing engineering feat, and the car’s styling isn’t bad either. Take a look at the video to see the Rinspeed sQuba in action.
