For those occasions when you need to make a quick getaway from your ski chalet, Lotus’ new ice vehicle promise looks to have some promise. Designed to operate in extremely cold temperatures and detect cracks in the ice below, the biofuel-powered slider sits on three skids and is pushed by a propeller in the rear. Lotus will be testing its single-seat ice craft on an experimental mission in the South Pole dubbed the Moon Regan Trans Antarctic Expedition. Two Ford E-Series vehicles will follow the ice vehicle in case something goes awry. We’re keeping our fingers crossed that the specialty craft performs according to plan. If Lotus’ ice vehicle ever made it to market, you could combine it with the DB7/Jaeger-LeCoultre watch combo (see article below) to create the ultimate Bond-inspired fleet.
