According to an alleged leaked memo, Bugatti has a GT package in the works to make the Veyron even faster, adding 363hp to the immensely powerful 987hp engine that the Veyron is currently packing. If the rumors are true, the 1350hp Veyron GT with 1,018lb-ft of torque will top out at 264 mph and do the 0-62 sprint in 2.4 seconds. A 36% increase in power!
To equip the Veyron GT for this power boost, Bugatti will be adding carbon-ceramic brakes, a revised Electronic Stability Program (ESP), and a new active aerodynamics package which lowers ground clearance, adjusts rear spoiler and open/closes lids.
Current Veyron owners rejoice. If the Veyron GT package is real, it will be made available as an upgrade to existing Veyrons. If true, deliveries are estimated for March, 2009.
The latest Sci-Fi flick from Vin Diesel, Babylon A.D., has been getting some pretty dismal reviews and that’s kind of a disappointment because we were fans of Chronicles of Riddick. Despite the bad press, the futuristic bikes and quads from the film stand out. The bikes were built by French custom high performance bike builder Lazareth and include some features that have us wondering what these babies will go for on the auction block. We’re especially found of the quads. The bikes are equipt with supercharged V-twin engines, single-sided forks and swingarms and on-board computers, not to mention they look pretty cool. Check out the video to see them in action. Vin Diesel even makes an appearance at the end as he’s checking out the bikes for himself. More picks of the bikes and quads after the jump. Back in August, the M Division at BMW announced that they would be shelving plans to produce the E92 BMW M3 CSL, a lighter and more performance-oriented M3 coupe. Fortunately, California tuner Vorsteiner has taken up the cause and released its own E92 BMW M3 body kit based on the tuner’s own interpretation of the CSL.
While we’re on the topic of LCD screens in unusual places, like the dual TV’s above the boat swim step in the Dzine post below, we present to you AC Schitzer’s new LCD gear shifters.
The German tuner’s new LCD shifters display the current gear on manual transmission models. Not super practical, but we’re always a fan of more LCD’s, no matter where they are.
AC Schnitzer will begin installing the LCD shifters on Minis and other BMW models.
