There have not been any releases of a SP model by Ducati. This miss has been mended by the famed bike manufacturer with the launch of the recent 1198 SP model. This is acting as the replacement for 1198 S.
The new and improved Italian superbike is a dream invention with many wonderful features. It has the Ducati Quick Shifter which is the standard feature of most Ducati bikes. It also has the full Ohlins suspension package which includes an Ohlins steering damper and a TTX rear shock. The fuel tank made of aluminum has come from the Corse Special Edition of last year. This special feature weighs much less than the weight of the 15.5 liter tank of the Corse. It also has the added advantage of having a fuel capacity of 18 liters.
The 1198 SP version is not very different from the 1198. However, the latest gadget installed in it is the Quick Shifter. Read the rest of this entry »

These days secrecy is really hard for companies, specially when you have legions of fans out there just waiting to snap a shot of your concept vehicle & post it on the internet. Some of those fans are so sneaky that they’ll even hang around testing tracks just to catch a glimpse of future technology.
Ducati recently had a taste of sneaky fan photography when their test model was spotted in public & hurriedly snapped by eager members of the public. But then again, why wouldn’t you want to take a picture of a cool bike? Specially when you know it’s not out on the showroom floor yet.
What those snappy people saw last week, was in fact the new Ducati Diavel (pronounced dee-ah-vel) which the company will be unveiling at the EICMA International Motorcycle Show next month in Milan.
