New Jet Boat a Thrill on the Waves

C-Boat's C-12

The jet boat industry has just dipped its toes into the boating waters, but one things for sure: there’s nothing tentative about this baby!

There’s no propellers, no rudder – just two impellers that suck water in through a grill in the front & jet it out the back. The C-Boat C-12 works like a jet-ski: fast, manoeuvrable & able to go where other boats can’t. That’s because thanks to the jets & smooth hull, shallow waters are no match for this baby & you can glide over inches of water without the stress of something getting stuck.

The Mary Slim Almost Green Yacht

The Mary Slim luxury yacht from Multimarine features a super-slim and extra-long haul designed to reduce the boat’s drag and thereby lower its biodiesel fuel consumption. The Miami International Boat Show opened today with two hot new Pininfarina-designed speedboat debuts: the Challenger PF 36 Limited Edition from Challenger Powerboats (pictured above) and the Magnum 80 from Magnum Marine (pictured after the jump).

Powered by twin supercharged 8.2-liter racing V8s, which produce 1324 hp total, the 36′ Challeger hits top speeds in excess of 95 mph. The 80′ magnum has nearly four times the power of the Challenger and can reach up to 60 mph, which is extremely impressive given its length. While the Magnum can fit four cabins in its hull, the show boat has two VIP cabins instead, chosen at the owner’s request.

Both Challenger Powerboats and Magnum Marine are American boat builders. The Miami International Boat show runs through the 18th.
