Fresh From Geneva: Audi R8 TDI Le Mans
March 4th, 2008 by BallerRideToday is the first day of the Geneva International Motor Show, and Audi has come out of the gates big with its new eco-friendly R8 concept, the Audi R8 TDI Le Mans. The R8 concept features a more aggressive front grille than production models, not to mention a more eye-catching bright red and black color scheme.
Pumping out 500 hp, the 6.0L V12 takes the car from 0-62 in 4.2 seconds and to a top-end speed of 186 mph (making the car barely fast enough to justify its looks in our opinion). What is impressive is the car’s 737 lb-ft of torque, making the R8 TDI Le Mans one of the torquiest cars in existence. The car’s Euro 6-compliance also makes it “green.” So, if Audi decides to produce the model and you pick one up, you can feel like you’re doing your part to save the planet.
