Seems that it’s a race to sell off significant cars at the moment & now there’s a famous Aston Martin on the sale block.
A Mr Desmon J Smail has listed the DBR9 that was the 2008 Le Mans GT1 class winner & the fifth vehicle overall in the race. The car was driven by David Brabham, Antonio Garcia & Darren Turner in the race & now Smail is hoping to make a mint off the sale of the vehicle.
The car is based on Aston Martin’s iconic DB9 road car , with the DBR9 name derived from the company’s first Le Mans winning car, the DBR1. The DBR1 took the 24 Hour Le Mans race in 1959 & the World Sportscar title, so its relative is also now a part of Aston Martin’s rich history, as well as automotive racing history.
The DBR9 has custom carbon fibre composite body panels for racing, getting the most out of that 600 hp engine under the hood, with some other tweaks & modifications to draw out the extra edge over competitors.
Also worth noting is that the car’s styling led to the gorgeous DBS that was driven by Daniel Craig as James Bond in Casino Royale & the DBS road car that got plenty of rave reviews thanks to its good looks & charming performance.

At the Paris Motor Show just over a month ago, Lotus stunned everyone by unveiling no less than five concept vehicles at the show, with the promise of a “new era” for the manufacturing company. And that was directly from CEO Dany Bahar’s mouth at the time.
The show saw everyone getting very excited about the Esprit, Elan, Elite, Elise & Eterne concept cars – vehicles that look set to reinvent the Lotus brand & put them on the same track as Ferrari, Aston Martin, Maserati & Lamborghini. Some tough guys to play with, but Lotus are already setting their sights on the checkered flag with the Esprit.
The Esprit concept car is currently the only one of those sexy 5 that is actually being developed right now, according to the UK’s Autocar magazine.

It seems the people over at Aston Martin like to keep us guessing when it comes to their concept cars & future offerings.
This sexy Lagonda Concept SUV wet our appetite at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show, & then went on to be shelved after a not-so-friendly welcome from journalists & some Aston Martin owners, who were not expecting the crossover form.
Then last month, David Richards (Aston Martin owner) officially announced to the world that the Lagonda project would be a no-go, leaving Aston Martin to their stately sedans & swanky grand-tourers.

James Bond – what can we say? Baller swagger, Baller confidence, Baller cool & the Baller magnetism that has women practically throwing themselves at him.
He has also driven some of the coolest cars throughout the years, including this Aston Martin DB5, which was used in Goldfinger & Thunderball.
This car is not only iconic in terms of car design, but also movie history & it has the added value of having been driven by that smooth Scotsman Sean Connery.
