When you get experts from design, bicycle frame building, photography and writing to pool their talent together, you get a retro-modern, sophisticated and a rather meticulously handcrafted bicycle in a limited edition called ‘The Nightstream’ from Stuttgart-based Vendeyk. What do you get when you combine an artist’s passion for wood and bicycling? The answer is pretty straightforward – A wooden bicycle. And that’s exactly what happened when furniture designer Seth Deysach was asked to design a product for last year’s Object Society Design Show. The furniture maker combined his experience in working for bicycle shops and furniture making to create a wood bike called Lagomorph. It is a single-speed bike with a wooden frame, rugged styling and sleek lines. Unlike a lot of designer products that never seem to see the light of day after the exhibition has concluded, Lagomorph is at a stage where the designer is accepting special orders with some degree of customization that is available on request. The decision to buy a luxury vehicle is certainly not an easy one. If you’ve been fretting over which luxury car to buy to fill that empty corner in your garage or to add to your prized collectibles, take a look at the new V12 Zagato from Aston Martin. The luxury vehicle has received an overwhelming response from all quarters following its first display on May 21 at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este at Lake Como in Italy. It even won the Design in the Concepts and Prototypes class. The two lookalike prototypes also finished fifth and sixth at the Nurburgring 24 hour race. The resulting interest in the car led Aston Martin to commit to producing a limited edition range of 150 Zagatos. Read the rest of this entry »

Even superheroes don’t own flying cars but you might be able to. If you’ve always dreamed of owning a Flying Car, you will be delighted to know that the Terrafugia Transition Roadworthy Aircraft or Airworthy Car or Flying Car is most likely going to see the light of day come 2012. The Terrafugia Transition Flying Car has just received special exemptions from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that will let it use plastic windows instead of automotive safety glass and special tires that are currently not permitted on road vehicles.
