There’s nothing like a good bit of rugged fun in an ATV that makes close friends with mud, gravel & sharp inclines. That’s where the Can-Am Commander 1000 comes in & you won’t be sorry when you get your hands on (or your butt into) one of these babies.
The standard model has an 85HP Rotax 1000cc engine, the most powerful side-by-side ATV on the market with great fuel efficiency (39% more than its closest competitor) & the best power-to-weight ration in its class. There’s also an adjustable driver’s seat & tilt steering, Intelligent Throttle Control, Visco-Lok front differential, TTI rear suspension, double A-arm front suspension with drive-control geometry & a 2-inch diameter steel ROPS-approved cage.
And that’s just the standard model. The X & XT models come with that & more!

McLaren teased us with their MP4 sportscar 2 years ago & now finally they’ve revealed how much it’ll actually cost to buy one of these beauties.
The first high-performance sportscar went into production a couple days ago at the McLaren Technology Centre (MTC) in Woking, England. McLaren are planning on building 1,000 of the cars in 2011, with most of them made in a bespoke new £40m McLaren Production Centre that is due to be completed in May on a site adjacent to the MTC.
The MP4-12C uses an innovative carbon fiber monocoque chassis tub & has a 600 horsepower 3.8l V-8 engine that is turbocharged, so it takes just 10 seconds to get from zero to 124 mph & 3.5 seconds for 0-60mph, with McLaren chief (Ron Dennis) claiming that it’ll be the ‘fastest car money can buy’.

Pagani arrived on the auto scene with a vehicle that wowed us, making us sit up & take notice of the newcomer – which is generally unheard of in the auto business & pretty much impossible when it comes to the supercar space. But they did it with the Zonda & now they’re hit the ground running with previews of their newest vehicle the Huayra (pronounced “hu-aye-rah”).
The car is named after the Andean god of the wind & is their replacement for the Zonda, so it has a lot to live up to.
So far on aesthetics alone it’s doing pretty good in our books & we’re suitably impressed with the specs thanks to many similarities with the Zonda.

If you’re a Top Gear fan like I am, you will remember Jeremy Clarkson racing a a motorbike in a very fast little supercar & getting his face almost blown off by racing the same car around the track. Well, that car was the Ariel Atom & Top Gear’s James May has just reviewed the newest model in a similar fashion, by racing it against the fastest road bike in the world, around the Top Gear track. The Top Gear host puts the new Atom through its paces & if you’re like me, your heart will go faster without having even sat in the driver’s seat.
Ariel’s new offering of the Atom features a V8 engine that outputs 500 horsepower. Now, while that may not sound so impressive on its own (in comparison to other supercars) it’s important to note that the Atom only weighs just over 1,200 pounds! That’s about half of what the Bugatti Veyron Supersport weighs, which means that the power to weight ratio is double of the Veyron. In fact, the V8 500 has 900 brake horse power per tonne – the Ferrari Enzo has 434bhp per tonne & the Bugatti Veyron sits at 530bhp per tonne.
