Due for launch in June is Cyrus Yachts’ new semi-custom 34m (105-foot) raised pilot house motor yacht. Designed by Rene van der Velden, naval architect Dr. Peter van Oosannen, the new Cyrus 34 features a unique retro design complemented by some new design attributes, including “magic glass” or privacy glass in the owner’s office, a dark tempered glass cover in the wheel house, and a dome cover on the flybridge. Wengé and Anigré woods as well as floating stainless steel inlay accents give the Cyrus 34’s interior a fresh luxury look. Contemporary and Traditional interior design schemes are available, as are a number of other custom options for purchasers.

Erik Sifrer’s design for the Green Jet 57 m (187 foot) sailyacht offers the perfect solution for the eco-friendly, lazy, and luxury-minded sailboat enthusiast. The concept sailyacht operates similar to a motoryacht, as it’s navigated and controlled by a computerized sail system that is operated by the touch of a control screen. Two fully automated Aero-sails guided by hydraulic motors act as the main propulsion system for the Green Jet, and the hydraulic motors are designed to hoist the sails to full height in 30-40 seconds. The automated sail system means that the crew can focus more on catering to the owner’s requests, versus waisting their time rigging the sails.

XSMG is a company that began with a simple goal: to build the world’s first supercar on the water. The result of XSMG’s efforts is the sleekly-styled and equally powerful XSR48, which accomplishes that company’s goal of combining “the DNA and high performance of a supercar with superyacht styling.”
The 1600+ horsepower powerboat is powered by two diesel engines, which propel the 48-foot XSR48 to a top speed of 98 mph (85 knots). The superboat’s hull is made of kevlar and carbon fiber with cross linked pvc cores bonded using vinylester and epoxy resins.

For those who don’t have the patience to commission their own custom yacht, purchasing a pre-owned boat can make a smart move. Of the current yacht inventory on the market, one of our favorite ships is the 143-foot Slipstream, constructed by Warren Yachts of New South Wales, Australia in 2001.
The black and gray Slipstream comes with room for ten guests in five cabins, plus there’s a large owner’s suite decked out a study, lounge, dressing room, and his and hers baths. The yacht is also equipped with a Jacuzzi dip pool, gymnasium, BBQ, two tenders, waverunners, waterskis, and snorkeling gear.
The price? 16.6 Million euros (U.S. $25.8 million).

The Aqua Star is an underwater scooter designed to give riders the scuba experience without requiring any kind of license to operate. Traveling at speeds of up to 4 mph, riders can dive 12 meters, allowing them access to most shallow reefs without requiring a weight belt or a back-strapped tank. While details haven’t surfaced on who makes the Aqua Star or whether or not it’s for sale, a video of the underwater scooter can be found here. We think this water toy would make the perfect addition to any yacht or tropical beach house.
