Cruise the waters retro-style in the Stand Craft Prima Donna 40′. This custom made-to-order runabout/megayacht tender combines today’s modern technology with retro lines. The new release from Stand Craft comes with a Volvo Penta IPS 400 contained in two 300hp D4’s and has additional options including an automatic retractable roof system and power side windows. The Prima Donna 40′ is priced at $1,100,000 and is what brought our attention to Stand Craft.

The Prima Donna certainly holds its own, but we’re partial to its bigger brother the 55′ Miss Sweden 2 (pictured after the jump). Read the rest of this entry »

Half Submarine/Half Superyacht: Another Whale in the Sea

December 9th, 2008 by BallerRide

submarine-superyacht-whale-design-1.jpg

Whales seem to be having a large influence over marine design lately. First the Whale-inspired Oculus and now Johnathan Owen Pearson’s Luxury Submarine. This 144ft half sub, half superyacht allows for comfort while veiwing coral reefs, shipwrecks and any kind of under-water life while trying to blend in. The whale-like submarine/yacht is propelled by two hydrogen fuel cell-powered pump jets an effort to make it eco-friendly. No word on price as the design is still only a concept from JopDesign, which also concepts luxury kitchen designs, salad servers, lighting aparatuses, etc. More pictures of the whale-like sub-yacht after the jump.

The 250ft super yacht resembles a whale with it’s smooth lines, open-mouth-like backside and window resembling an eye. The Oculus is still just a concept, but it’s the flagship design for Schöpfer’s yacht line. Follow the jump for more images and the designers description.
