The latest Sci-Fi flick from Vin Diesel, Babylon A.D., has been getting some pretty dismal reviews and that’s kind of a disappointment because we were fans of Chronicles of Riddick. Despite the bad press, the futuristic bikes and quads from the film stand out. The bikes were built by French custom high performance bike builder Lazareth and include some features that have us wondering what these babies will go for on the auction block. We’re especially found of the quads. The bikes are equipt with supercharged V-twin engines, single-sided forks and swingarms and on-board computers, not to mention they look pretty cool. Check out the video to see them in action. Vin Diesel even makes an appearance at the end as he’s checking out the bikes for himself. More picks of the bikes and quads after the jump. Chicago born-Puerto Rican artist, Dzine, is currently showing some of the most unusual, tricked-out vehicles we’ve encountered at the Deitch gallery in Long Island City New York. Dvice was on the scene at the show opening this past Sunday to capture the images shown above and below.
Pictured above and in the thumbs below you’ll see a functional motorboat outfitted with dual LCD’s above the swim step (a first for us), four large speakers at the rear, plush orange and pink seats, and a glossy metallic orange paint job. Also on display is a throne-equipped blue three-wheeled lowrider bike, a red and gold-plated motorbike that looks to draw inspiration from a Chinese dragon, and four psychedelic paintings.
Dzine’s Deitch show, titled The Beautiful Struggle (copying Talib Kweli’s album?), runs through October 19th. According to the gallery, most of the pieces have already been snapped up. So if you’re interested, better make your move soon.
Put away that $1.7 Million check you were holding the Bugatti Veyron and spent the $1.688 Miliion you’ll save by buying a Suzuki Hayabusa on something else. The much fabled Bugatti Veyron, which we are a fan of here at BallerRide, was beat out by the Suzuki Hayabusa in a 1/4 mile and 0-186mph test as well as in the horsepower-to-kilogram ratio. While the Suzuki Hayabusa might not have the lines or class of the Bugatti Veyron, it is a fast and impressive bike that will save you big bucks if your just looking for speed. Actual times and ranking of the Bugatti Veyron and Suzuki Hayabusa after the jump. Read the rest of this entry »
Protect your dome in style with a luxury motorcycle helmet from Les Atelier Ruby’s flagship Pavillon line. Designed for comfort, the jet helmets are manufactured using carbon fiber to keep them light, and multiple air channels keep allow for ventilation to keep your head from getting overheated. The best part about the pavilion helmet is that it offers superior protection despite its lack of a chin strap.
A variety of colors and patterns are available, as you’ll see pictured in the image gallery below. The French helmet maker also has a line of crazily colored helmets from Parisian graffiti artist Honet. Although we don’t like to hate, Honet’s helmets aren’t very street, and we’d likely stick to the solid colors in the Pavilion line.
Back in September of 2006, two Connecticut men approached Orange County Choppers with the idea to create a theme bike in honor of the late Pope John Paul II. And less than one year after the bike debuted in August, 2007 the bike is up for grabs at an asking price of $110,000, with the proceeds going to charity. If you don’t mind staring down at the Pope while you ride, this bike offers the opportunity to add a rare, albeit expensive OCC custom chopper to your collection.
