It seems someone over at Aprilla is going to be in hot water: details of a ‘mistakenly’ posted service manual for a Dosduro 1200 have been posted online. Either that, or the “leak” was deliberate & was intended as a viral marketing campaign to generate buzz & excitement about the bike before its debut in November at the EICMA Show in Milan.

Now if you’re a supermotard fan, then you’ve probably got the Dosduro 750 model in your garage & you know just how much fun the bike (pictured above) is to ride. So you’ll be happy to know that it looks like Aprilla are bringing out a 1200 model later this year – which means you’ll have the versatility of the Dosduro with a beast of an engine.

They also seem to be bringing out a 1200 version of the Shiver, which is also a very sweet ride.

Specs-wise the leaked owner’s manual is suspiciously devoid of any power & torque stats, but we’re sure that it’ll be impressive, though it’s 57 pounds heavier than its cousin the 750.

The only pic available is this pixelated scan from the manual, which shows a bike that is slightly longer than the 750.

The tank capacity has been increased to 3.96n gallons, so it’ll be interesting to see the fuel consumption stats in comparison to the 750, which holds up to 2.9 gallons in the tank.

Other features include the ride-by-wire system,  with 3 settings of Touring, Sport & Rain.

Anti-lock braking will be optional, with an ABS system that can be turned off if you desire, but there’s no mention of traction control in the manual.

Fortunately, November is around the corner, so we’ll get more details about the bike then & hopefully we’ll have an idea of price.
