Iconic Motors to Produce AC Roadster for 2011

Iconic Motors‘ concept car debuted in 2008 & then, after a viewing at the New York Motor Show the same year, everything went quiet & nothing was heard from the company until now.
Apparently, the company has spent the last 2 years finalizing the production model & getting into bed with AC Cars – which is why the production model is called the AC Roadster.
The roadster is nothing short of impressive: it’s a modern take on the classic Shelby AC Cobra, with a powerful V-8 engine that produces 825 horsepower & 680 pound-feet of torque. Apparently it’ll take you from 0 to 60mph in under 3 seconds, which means it’s not a car for toupee wearers -cough cough- Mr Trump -cough cough-.

The car takes full advantage of modern technology & materials: both the headlights & tail lights use LEDs & parts of the body are crafted from carbon fiber – which keeps it light & speedy.
Iconic have used 14 inch carbon ceramic brakes, Goodyear F1 Supercar runflat tires, chrome-alloy steel tube construction for the chassis that is reinforced with honeycomb aluminum & a suspension system like Formula 1 cars.
The interior is covered in soft leather with racing seats that feature a 4 point harness much like the classic Cobra.
The Roadster should be available in August & will retail at $350,000
