Double Down: Sunreef Double Decker Sailing Yacht
October 14th, 2009 by BallerRide No Comments
Sunreef has doubled down with 92 feet of a new double deck, double hull catamaran that has us wanting to sail the high seas in yacht charter luxury. The Sunreef 92 Double Deck has sleek hulls and a streamlined deck-house that’s topped by a 40m2 flybridge which was inspired by larger superyachts. Aside from a great design, for which we can credit Sunreef’s internal design team, the yacht packs a double punch with it’s two jet skis and tender hidden in a purpose-built locker under the main cockpit’s sun pad.
The Sailing Yacht can accommodate 6-10 guests in three to five double suites and still has room for four crew. The owner’s suite is a two-floor luxury design that occupies the front of the boat and features a private office, gym, leisure area, and a bathroom with wardrobe and storage. All the cabins have three-side access to king size beds with sea views, note all the windows in the photos, and are each fitted with separate bathroom and shower, wardrobe, lockers, entertainment systems and air conditioning. The cockpit features a large dinning table, sunbathing mattresses, diving equipment near the large flybridge that houses the Jacuzzi, two wet bars, barbecue and ice-makers.

For those interested in the design the hull line’s unique look comes from Sunreef’s advanced design technologies and constant research into new solutions for a faster and smoother ride. The Naval Architecture Bureau, a Sunreef entity, has studied performance and sea capabilities at length using Computational Flow Dynamics in collaboration with K-Epsilon and other noteworthy sea-faring organizations, in order to come up with an LOA of 27m, an 11.2m beam, 1.6m draft and an 80 tonne displacement for the double decker beauty. The Sailing Yacht is to be powered by two 405hp 12L/3 170 gallon engines which attain a cruising speed of 15 knots.
