Maybach Here to Stay

For a while now there has been speculation that Mercedes may be discontinuing its upmarket Maybach line. Thankfully, the rumors aren’t true and Maybach is here to stay, according to Daimler AG CEO Dieter Zetsche.
Despite market woes, Daimler is betting that affluent consumers will continue to drop upwards of $372,000 (starting price) on Maybach’s high-luxury sedans, including its new $1.35 million drop-top Landaulet. Last year, Maybach moved only 146 cars. However, Zetsche insists that the brand isn’t losing money.
We’re thrilled to see Maybach hang in there and can’t wait for the Landaulet to hit the streets. When it does, you can bet you’ll see a few dotted around Monaco, the new world’s most expensive real estate market.
