Gumbert Apollo Now Available in U.S.

September 9th, 2008 by BallerRide View Comments

U.S. buyers in the market for a unique supercar have a new option, the Gumbert Apollo, now offered for sale through Arizona’s Evolution Motorsports. Gumbert will ship the Apollos in kits from its German factory to Evolution, which will assemble the street-legal race car in its own shop for U.S. regulation purposes.

Built on an Audi 4.2L V8 engine, the 650 hp Gumbert Apollo hits a top speed of 224 mph and reaches 0-60 mph in 3.0 seconds. As the video explains, the base model Apollo runs approximately $400,000.  However, once you start adding options, the price can escalate to $750,000.

Although it slightly resembles a rice rocket, we’re a fan of the Gumbert Apollo and hope to see some making their way to San Francisco soon.
