The Gold 911: A New Way to Combat Russian Inflation

Inflation may be on the rise in Russia. But at least this Russian Porsche owner has found a way to protect at least part of his fortune by covering his 911 in 40 lbs of solid gold. At current market prices, the gold on the Porsche alone would cost just under $600,000. And while it’s not the first gold Porsche we’ve seen (German jeweler VISUALIS introduced a 22-carat Boxter in 2006), we’re happy to see that the owner chose an original gold brick pattern and equipped the car with a gold-plated spoiler and tailpipes. The only downside we can see is that the owner would have to keep a security detail in tow. Or cram them into the 911.
