Maserati Gives the 2009 Quattroporte New Lines, More Power
June 23rd, 2008 by BallerRide No Comments
Maserati’s four-door Quattroporte has been on the road now for five years, and despite its sophisticated Pininfarina styling, we’re ready to see a complete redesign. While that won’t come until 2012, Maserati has fortunately updated the 2009 model year Quattroporte, adding new design elements and introducing a new and more powerful S version.
New bodywork on the ‘09 Quattroporte includes a reshaped front bumper, vertical lines on the front grille, restyled front and rear LED lights, sharpened fenders, slimmed mirrors, and a more aggressive tail. Two new paint colors, a sandy beige and a maroon, will also be available. On the interior, the 2009 Quattroporte features a new Maserati Multimedia System in the center console, as well as ergonomic improvements throughout the car.
Engine-wise, Maserati will offer a Quattroporte S with a 4.7-liter 430-hp V8, recently introduced on the GranTurismo S. The standard Quattroporte will carry the same 4.2-liter 400-hp V8 engine installed in the current model year. Both will come exclusively with the ZF-sourced six-speed automatic transmissions, replacing the clumsy sequential transmission from the previous design.
Until Maserati drops its completely restyled Quattroporte in 2012, the 2009 Quattroporte will have to suffice. We’re just happy to see that the new model has a more powerful engine option and a slightly meaner new look.
