Knight Rider’s KITT Trans Am on the Auction Block
June 17th, 2008 by BallerRide No CommentsFor any Knight Rider fans, David Hasslehoff fans, or custom car collectors out there, the iconic KITT car from the Knight Rider TV series was recently in an online auction which ended today. The talking car was featured in the 1982-1986 Knight Rider TV series and sold for $53,000 on eBay. This particular KITT was introduced in the third season and then retrofitted to become the “Super Pursuit Mode” variant of KITT in the fourth season. For newbies to Knight Rider, Super Pursuit Mode allowed KITT, the “300mph, high tech, self awaer communicative, man-made marvel, designed to aid and protect Michael Rider,” to travel 40% faster than the already 300mph claimed. This KITT also appeared in the 1984 TV Movie of Knight Rider and The Benchwarmers in 2006.
For anyone interested in purchasing KITT off the winning bidder, be prepared to top the $53,000 price tag. After all, this KITT has only 21,102 miles and Trans Am’s tend to keep their speed and performance into their old age.
