MObi: the Green Luxury Airstream

Overhauled Airstreams always peak our interest. Especially when the restorations incorporate the latest in electronics, green technology, and luxury amenities. Kevin Fitzsimons’ redone 1978 Sovereign 31’ Airstream Land Yacht, nicknamed MObi (short for Mobitat), is the perfect example. According to Fitzsimon’s Mobitat website, the MObi is outfitted with an “LED screen, surround sound, smart technology, state of the art plumbing fixtures, over the top appliances, and environmental technology… all tucked into an aluminum capsule that you can take anywhere, anytime.” The MObi is also completely green.

At the moment, MObi is a one-of-a-kind project. However, we’re sure that with enough cash and the right attitude, Fitzsimons would gladly build you your own. His upcoming projects include Marc Ecko’s 30,000+ square foot New Jersey crib and another contemporary California estate. So, you may have to wait a bit, but we’re betting it would be worth it.
