Sunreef’s New 106 Sailing Luxury Catamaran
April 28th, 2008 by BallerRide 1 CommentSoon after beginning construction on a 102-foot Double Decker sailing catamaran, Polish boat builder Sunreef Yachts was approached by a European client who wanted a similar cat, only bigger. After hitting the drawing board, Sunreef’s designers have come back with the 106 Sailing concept, pictured above and after the jump. With this order, Sunreef is the first and only shipyard to have two 100+ foot multihulls under construction simultaneously.
Sunreef’s new 106 Sailing combines modern style with a high degree of functionality. Inside the 106, a unique island has been added between the galley and the saloon to break up the space. On the saloon side, the island is decked out with a full-featured entertainment system.
From concept shots, it doesn’t look like the 106 Sailing has been configured for a hot tub, although Sunreef has installed them on some of its large catamarans in the past.
Sunreef hasn’t disclosed pricing for its new 106 multihull. But to give you a reference point, the company is selling a new 2008 62-foot single-deck model for 1.6 million euros (app. U.S. $2.5 million). We’d expect that the price on the 106 Sailing to be at least double.
If you like the design on the 106 but would rather sail something bigger or smaller, Sunreef has experience building luxury catamrans in a wide range of sizes and configurations.
