Quasar Lite LSA: the Greenest Airplane on the Planet?

We came across an interesting personal aircraft listing on eBay today that could be an incredible deal if the offer is what it’s cracked up to be.

According to the plane’s seller, who goes by the name of Gee, the Quasar Lite LSA “will set at least, two World Records, probably more. 1) We will attempt a Guinness Book of Records TM, ‘Greenest Aircraft on the Planet’ this Spring with a trans-continental flight from California to Florida on a single tank of fuel & 2) We will attempt a NAA Triangle efficiency course, proving 60+ mpg.”

Reportedly, the Quasar Lite costs about $10 per hour to operate; “less…than a Toyota,” as Gee claims. With a buy it now of $144,000, we’re skeptical of the Quasar’s performance claims. But, if it’s the real deal, the Quasar Lite LSA could provide a ridiculously cheap way to fly across the country.

I went from Miami to Texas on 24 gallons. Then, to North Carolina on 20 gallons. Then, to Vicksburg on 15 gallons. Yes, this works. This is NEW SCHOOL.
