Care to travel at 40mph on a surfboard without a wave? Hop on the MonoJet, a high-performance jet-powered surfboard for rivers, lakes, and the open ocean. The MonoJet is the lightest and fastest jet-powered surfboard made, capable of traveling at speeds of up to 40mph. As Mono-Tech Tool and Engineering Company, the board’s manufacturer, says, the board is “easy to ride, operate, mount, dismount, handle, and transport.” When we spoke with Egon Monostory, MonoJet’s creator, he affirmed that the board is nearly 80 lbs lighter, five miles faster, and one foot shorter than any motorized surfboard on the market.

So what’s the catch? You can’t buy one straight up. If you’re interested you’ll need to contact Egon and have the right attitude and personality. If Egon likes you, he’ll consider taking you down to the lake and letting you take the MonoJet out for a spin. When asked if he would construct another for the right price, Egon answered that he might give out the specs. But more importantly, it would need to be the right person. If you don’t hit it off with Egon, you can always go with the PowerSki Jetboard (thumb 3) which is baller in its own right.
