The World’s Fastest Jet Ski: Kawasaki, Yamaha, or Sea-Doo?

When you get on a Jet Ski you probably ask the same question we do; how fast can I go on this thing? In the quest for the world’s fastest out of the box PWC (personal watercraft) we found three contenders that qualify for competition, not surprisingly they come from the top three Jet Ski manufacturers. The Kawasaki Ultra 250X, Sea-Doo RXP-X 255, and the Yamaha FX SHO all bring speed and acceleration to the table, topping out at speeds of 70-85mph. We’ll lay out the specs and let you decide which would win in a match up.

Kawasaki Ultra 250X

The Kawasaki Ultra 250X delivers “the pinnacle of PWC performance” with its 1498cc 250hp supercharged engine derived from Kawasaki’s 1200 four-cylinder engine found in their ZX14 motorcycle, which claims to be the world’s fastest production bike. The Ultra 250X has a USBA championship race winning V-shaped hull that has a high back angle allowing for “motorcycle-like turning performance.” “The quickest and most powerful production PWC in history” comes in sunbean red, valiant blue, jet white, or lime green for a price of $11,699.

Yamaha FX SHO

The Yamaha FX SHO “accelerates quicker from 0-30 than a Corvette Z06” with its 1822cc engine. At over 300cc’s larger and 45 pounds lighter than its nearest competitor, this Ski might be the fastest off the line. Coming in stealth black or metallic midnight blue the FX SHO is the first in the industry to offer cruise control, not that we would use that feature. Pricing starts at $11,999.

Sea-Doo RXP-X 255

This Sea-Doo musclecraft 2-seater brings a 1494cc 255hp supercharged Rotax engine that does 0-50 in 2.9 seconds. The race-inspired RXP-X comes in hyper silver with orange highlights and boasts “the quickest acceleration ever offered on a PWC .” The cost comes in at $12,999.

    TOP OUT AT 70-85MPH?IS THAT A JOKE BECAUSE IVE RODE ALL 3 AND THEY ONLY DO ABOUT 65-68MPH STOCK WITH NO MODIFICATIONS DONE. BETTER DO YOU RESEARCH.

    Withj my yamaha 760 ra waverunner,i would consign these pwcs to racong history(jokes).Anyway the yamaha fx sho has trully caught my imagination.Over long distances it seems unbeatable and rightly claims the title of the fastest pwc on mother earth!

    JUST GO OF THE FX SHO INCREDIBLE ACCELERATION, AWESOME SPEED THE BEST JET SKI I HAVE EVER RIDEN. FASTEST TOO I DONT KNOW WHY I WOULD NEED THAT MUCH SPEED
