Tesla Motors Finally Announces Production Schedule

After a long struggle to get their zero-emissions Electric Vehicle Roadster to market, Tesla Motors has finally announced that it will start pumping out 100 Roadsters per month starting early next year. While the first 900 units have been spoken for, Tesla is opening two California dealerships (Los Angeles and Menlo Park) to sell its future inventory.
Developed with help from Lotus Cars, the Tesla Roadster packs impressive performance stats given its green pedigree and semi-affordable $89,000 price tag. Off the line, the Roadster sprints from 0-60 mph in 3.9 seconds, beating out most standard Ferraris.
The downside? After seeing the Tesla Roadster in person several times, we’d have to say that the design is mediocre at best, in part because of the car’s extremely small size. But hey, at $89k, you can’t ask for everything.
