The Stretch Truck Company Extends the Pickup

The Stretch Truck Company is a Denver-based customizer that specializes in a unique niche: adding length to Ford trucks. For about $20,000 the company can hook up your truck or SUV with an additional row of seats, like the the F-series pictured above.

Unless you’ve got a really big family, a Stretch truck might not be your daily driver. However, the extended trucks do serve a practical purpose for hauling horse trailers and boats, in addition to large groups. Add a refrigerator, some LCD screens, and a system, and you’ve got the ultimate road trip vehicle. Gas won’t be cheap. But at least there will be more people to split the bill.

Using plastic for the trucks’ front inner fender panels added to the overall weight reduction, and also eliminated an area prone to rust. Ford tackled another rust-prone area by redesigning cab and bed areas to minimize spots where dirt and mud could accumulate.
