With a launch date of early 2009, pre-orders for Lightning Car Company’s electric GT are rolling in. If you heard about the Lightening GT back in June 2007 be prepared to meet a new vehicle, as the car’s design has been completely re-vamped.

Using nano titanate battery technology, the GT’s electric ‘Hi-Pa Drive’ engine pulls with 700 hp “in the wheels,” making 0-60 in four seconds with a top speed of 130 mph. The Lightning GT will come in a luxury model, a lightweight sport version, and an extended range model that can run up to 250 miles on one 10-minute charge. The car’s body is made from carbon fiber and Kevlar, and the interior has the option of full leather trim.

Pssst… That 700 hp is not “under the hood”. It’s in the wheels.

    You’re welcome.
